Dior Holiday 2023 Color Collection Swatches
Dior Holiday 2023 Color Collection is a new, limited edition launch that included several products, including two new eyeshadow palettes and two blushes, which are the pieces I purchased for review. Everything seemed decent – not particularly out of line with past releases but not the “best of” either. I think those who tend to use Dior’s eyeshadows with a dampened brush will get the best results out of it. The blushes blended out well but were a little powdery.
Here are swatches!
I’m just not “wowed” by these seemingly redundant to many previous holiday quints. The one deeper blush, Splendid Rose, is pretty enough, but for some reason it reminds me of a blush that I already have? Not sure which one, but it looks awfully familiar!
Funny, the palettes are sort of inverses of one another.
Yes, the swatches look pretty decent for both the eyeshadow palettes and I would agree with you that they are perhaps not the very best they’ve bought either. The Dior line a couple of years ago was stellar and this is very good. At least they are much better than the ones you reviewed earlier on this year.
I like the general neutral feel of these and they are more ‘autumny’.
Promenade Dore is the one more suited to me.
Pretty boring! No beautiful holiday greens, etc.
Precious Rose blush was such a disappointment! I have fair skin and when I swatched it, it was barely there… I’d have to cake it on to get a bit of colour. Pass.
I had pretty much decided not to get anything from the Dior Holiday release. If I were going to get one, I thought I would go with the Promenade palette as it had two shades that I thought I would use as one and done shades. Those are Promenade 2 and 3. I definitely don’t need the other three shades and likely would use them infrequently. I had pretty much eliminated the Night Walk palette as it appeared boring to me and the shades didn’t look that inviting. I think that Dior has issues putting color stories together and this felt like one of those palettes. Now, I like shade 1 and 4. I wish 2 and 3 were better and regardless of review I wouldn’t likely use shade 5 as it is pretty dark and I prefer something a little lighter as I am so pale. Neither blush appeals as I have purchased a lot of blushes lately and have several that cover these shades and work amazingly. So, I don’t know. I am still waiting to see Chanel and Tom Ford while I am in Denver and then I can decide. Still probably not going to get either of these as neither is worth it for the number of shades that I would actually use, even as one and done shades.
A lot of the colors in the palettes seem like they’d end up looking similar on the eyes, meh. At this price point, it doesn’t seem worth it.
The embossing on the shadows is really lovely and appealing, despite a pretty straightfoward set of color stories.
