This whole release just confuses me…why Star Wars again? For a luxury brand, this packaging just doesn’t look very it’s from a high-end makeup brand. Repromoting a bunch of products – did anyone actually ask for this?
I often wonder how this brand is still in existence between their terrible customer service and the near constant sales.
Agree
Pat McGrath is a HUGE Star Wars fan. https://www.vanityfair.com/style/2022/12/pat-mcgrath-interview-star-wars-x-pat-mcgrath-labs-makeup-collection
Pat McGrath is a huge Star Wars fan. Just like the first Star Wars collection a few years ago, this doesnāt have anything to do with brand goals or PMG fan demand. As I am also both a Star Wars nerd and a big PMG fan, this is one of those rare times where two of my interests intersect.
The first two palettes look nice. I’m especially impressed that Divine Droid features a colour scheme that Pat usually doesn’t have in her other palettes. It’s funny, as I was going to place my order for Huetopia, I saw Divine Droid and thought that it’s probably closer to what people thought Huetopia would look like: a soft rainbow of sorts.
I will be interested to see swatches. I don’t own any Pat palettes other than Ritualistic Rose (for the sparkly shades), but these look interesting enough to pick up.
I’m so tired of product branding that feels like random regular palettes with copyrighted images slapped on.
Zzzzzzzzzzzzz they need to work oncreativity.
I would love to see a more nude/warmer palettes in future.
Some more matte yellows, beige/browns, corals etc.
Love the palettes, especially the baked ones, have 2-3 palettes and use mostly – 3-4 colours in each palette. Would love to create my own palette on the website one day.
Apparently Pat is a HUGGGGEEE Star Wars fan, since she’s a teenager. So of course I get how she would jump on this opportunity to collab with her favorite franchise. I really am liking the look of those 5-shades palettes!
Sith Seduction looks like fun, otherwise this is just not blowing my socks off. Also, WHY Star Wars yet again? Between her and CP, there’s been a virtual overload of my circuits! And I’m someone who actually does love SW’s, but enough is enough already!
These are so beautiful and fun!! My favorite is the DIVINE DROID R2D2 one š
I need to see swatches, but I am interested in the Sith and R2D2 palettes. I think a bigger palette is supposed to come out as well.
I don’t care about all the repromotes.
I have to say though, I don’t find this collection nearly as exciting as the first.
So, so underwhelmed. I love her products but am consistently disappointed with the company’s choices to repeat things
Oh good! I don’t have to wake up at some ungodly hour (I live in Australia) just to buy makeup.
No thanks
Exactly!
Although I would agree with many of the opinions expressed above re the continuation of the Star Wars theme (which I was never into), but I am prepared to overlook this and intead look at the colour/shade selections of the eye palettes.
I think there is a wide variety on offer here and now that I own Bronze Bliss, in the same 5 pan format, I think it is a more viable option to choose the colour story that you like best. It is also less expensive too.
I particularly like these all metallic shimmer palettes as well. As to my favourite – I think I will wait till I see the swatches first.
Iāve been considering Midnight Sun for a while, and I like the look of Sith Seduction. That green is lovely⦠definitely will wait for swatches though. I love Star Wars and anything to make identical packaging in a drawer somehow easier to tell apart is always great.
You can get Midnight Sun for $77 on the website now… with the old packaging
I really donāt get this⦠Or maybe I do⦠This is just Colourpop with a very expensive price and some copyright pictures⦠If Pat McGrath loved Star Wars as much as she loves money she could really make creative and fun Star Wars Collections⦠Not just more random bright christmas release colours in a frame of her ever present pinks and golds⦠She just released her yearly colourful 18 pan palette with no special shades that perform pretty much like a decent Colourpop palette. And to flank that two more five pans with a bit more neutral touch⦠Why do we need three more palettes with random colour selections and then even four little singles? Itās as if the team just cannot choose but needs to release every suggested nuance by the factory? And for me that takes out the whole artistic creativity part of the picture. The only thing Star Wars about this is some rather boring copyrighted pictures on the cardboard packagings⦠Not even a single special shade!? Not even a Star Wars inprint on any of the shades⦠Left is just a shameless money squeeze designed for people with serious fomo. Hard pass.
These look fun. Though I am glad to see some more colorful options in this release, it will be a pass for me. I finally took the PMG plunge with the 5 pan bronze bliss and nude allure set during the Black Friday sale. Although the colors and textures were stunning, they creased like crazy, despite ny typical eyelid prep, making them a no-go for me. I had to send them back. I will stick with Natasha Denona, Viseart, and Sidney Grace for my shadows and add in some Clionadh multichromes for the special shadows.
Why is a luxury brand doing a collaboration? One time , fine but (including the two Bridgerton collections) this is like number 4 or 5. It just cheapens the brand. Pat is not Colourpop. Iām actually decluttering most cutesy packaged stuff. Food themed, movie themed etc. Iām over it. I just want nicely packaged, sophisticated makeup. Iām not interested anymore in the kiddie, makeup as merch stuff. Really cheapens the brand imo. I can watch Star Wars. I donāt need to prove my loyalty by having a picture on a makeup component. Enough already!
Btw Iām fully aware that Pat is a fan of Star Wars but this is a pure money grab and not about her supposed fandom. Pat McGrath the brand is not a person. Itās lazy marketing at its finest. Quickest buck by doing the least work. Slap on a picture. Put together the same ol colors. š°š°š°ššš
I still use and love both the 6 pans star wars palettes from a number of years back. This upcoming release, however, does not really speak to me. I want to applaud anything out of the uzgh for PMG, but š¤·.
Iām so excited to see this! I missed out the last time. I love when two of my favorite obsessions converge!!! āØāØāØāØāØāØ
10% off this at Pat.
Pat, why do you torment me, a humble Star Wars fan, with cute but expensive makeup šššššš
(I mean this in a joking way, I managed to snag some PMG makeup on sale at Sephora)
